Obituary for Janice Mary Demarest (Piscitella)
Green Island – Janice Mary Demarest, 65, lifelong resident of Green Island, passed away in the comfort of her home on February 13, 2023. Born in Troy on November 6, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Edna (Palladino) Piscitella.
Janice graduated from Heatly High School in 1976 and shortly after married her high school sweetheart, Robert. Together they shared nearly 50 years of happiness together until his passing in 2016. She was an easy-going, kind-hearted woman who could always be found with a smile on her face. She had a sense of humor that could lift anyone’s spirits and the infectious laughter to go along with it. She enjoyed the simplicities in life and never complained about anything. In her free time Janice enjoyed going to Bingo, collecting carousel horses, reading Archie comics, cheering on her New York Mets, and taking the yearly trip to Lake George for the car show with her husband.
Janice is survived by her daughters, Sara (Cory) Seeloff and Kera Demarest, both of Green Island, her grandchildren, Karleigh and Logan Seeloff, her sisters, Luanne (late Peter) Convery of Carmel, NY and Linda (Todd) D’Alessandro of Florida, and her nieces and nephews; Caitlin, Courtney, Kerry, Connor, Tara, Giovanni, Dina, and Domenica. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert J. Demarest.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 18th at 10 AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Janice in a special way may consider a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Upstate NY Chapter, 421 New Karner Rd, Suite 6, Albany, NY, 12205.
