Obituary for Patricia P. Snyder (McGrath)

Wynantskill – Patricia P. Snyder, 75, passed away at Samaritan Hospital on Thursday afternoon, April 27, 2023 with her loving family by her side. Born in Troy on January 18, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Beverly (Page) McGrath.

Patricia grew up in Troy and was a 1967 graduate of Troy High where she was a proud member of the Skyliner Drum and Bugle Corps. She held several jobs throughout her career, working at multiple state agencies and as a teacher’s aide at Watervliet Elementary School. However, no job title was more important to her than Mother and Grandmother. Patricia lived for the time spent with her adoring family. She enjoyed every single family gathering, picnic, and vacation with her loved ones. In her free time, Patricia loved preparing her famous sauce and meatballs, playing card and dice games, watching the Harry Potter movies, and cheering on her NY Yankees and NY Giants.

Patricia is survived by her children; Beverly (Craig) Wojtaszek of Wynantskill, Tonya (Todd Cylkoff) McIntyre of Averill Park, Mark (Amy) Snyder, Jr. of Schenectady, and Thomas (Renee) Snyder of Cohoes, her grandchildren; CJ and Alex Wojtaszek, Thomas (Paola) Snyder and Morgan McIntyre, Marli Gainor, Griffin and Hailey Snyder, Troy and Mia Snyder, Marissa (Gary) Goyer, and Brier and Tucker Cylkoff, her great-grandchildren; Olivia, Madelyn, and Penny Lane who is on her way, her brother Thomas (Robin) McGrath, Jr. and sister-in-law Donna Bidwell, and by many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Snyder, Sr., who passed in 2014, and her grandson, Tyler McIntyre.

All are invited to visit with Patricia’s family on Monday evening, May 1 from 4 to 7 PM at Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, Watervliet. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Troy, with interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Those who wish to remember Patricia in a special way may consider a donation to the Community Hospice Foundation, 310 South Manning Blvd, Albany, NY 12208.
