Obituary for Janette M. Norris (Stemp)
Janette M. Stemp Norris, 91, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2016 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center. Born in Cohoes on September 12, 1924, Janette was the daughter of the late Charles and Jennie McClintock Stemp.
Janette was raised in Cohoes and was a 1942 graduate of Cohoes High School. Two years later, she married the love of her life, the late Donald L. Norris. Janette and Donald resided in various areas of the country due to his career with Shell Oil until they ultimately resided in Houston, Texas. Janette worked for the American Red Cross, from which she retired. She later returned to the local area in 1998 following the passing of her husband.
Janette is survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, and also by her brother, Charles F. Stemp.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, July 21,2016 at the Bowen and Parker Bros. Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Friends and relatives may visit with Janette’s family for an hour prior to the service, from 9 until 10 am. Interment will take place following the service at Hudson View Cemetery, Mechanicville. Those who wish to remember Janette in a special way may make a donation in her memory to the American Red Cross, 33 Everett Road, Albany, NY 12205.
