Obituary for Eva Sebunia (Mlinarik)

Eva  Sebunia (Mlinarik)
Maplewood, NY – Eva (Mlinarik) Sebunia, 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2017.

Born in Watervliet on May 14, 1920, Eva was the daughter of the late Theodore and Anna (Sheyan) Mlinarik. She was raised and educated in Maplewood and resided there for most of her life.

Eva dedicated her life to the care of her family and home and had also worked for the Behr Manning Company in Watervliet and for Office Assistance, Inc in Latham.

She was a long-time communicant of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Watervliet and enjoyed family vacations, reading and watching and rooting on the Washington Redskins, Oakland Raiders and the N.Y. Mets.

Eva was the beloved wife of the late Joseph John Sebunia who died in 1991; the loving mother of Joseph P. Sebunia (Patricia) of Springfield, VA, Susan A. Curran (Charles) of Watervliet, Patricia M. Howansky (John) of Clifton Park and James M. Sebunia (Deborah) of Maplewood; the dear sister of the late Julia Spinda, Michael, Peter and John Mlinarik and the aunt of Beverly Gillett. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will begin on Friday at 9:30 AM in the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and will proceed to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Watervliet where at 10 AM the funeral liturgy will be celebrated by the Reverend Mikhail Myschuk. Eva will be laid to rest in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Maplewood. Friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Eva’s family on Thursday from 4 until 7 PM at the funeral home where at 6:30 PM the Panakhyda service will be held.
